Dr Na’eem Ahmed BEM

Dr Na’eem completed undergraduate medicine at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Hospital receiving the St Thomas’ Hospital Cup on graduation. He undertook Academic Foundation Training at King’s College Hospital, working under the supervision of the Head of School Professor Anne Greenough. Additionally, Dr Naeemcompleted radiology training in London with rotations including the Royal Marsden Hospital and the Royal Brompton Hospital with a subspecialty imaging Fellowship at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He was appointed Consultant Radiologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in 2019.

Dr Na’eem has also served on the Editorial Board for the Royal College of Physicians’ Clinical Medicine Journal and the Future Healthcare Journal. His co-authored textbook on chest radiology received the British Medical Association (BMA) Young Author’s Award in 2017. He has published opinion pieces in the Guardian Healthcare, Prospect Magazine and a healthcare improvement blog for the Health Foundation. Na’eem has delivered lectures at the inaugural TEDxNHS and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Annual Grand Challenges Meeting in London.

Na’eem served as President at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas Medical School Student Medical Education Committee. Na’eem has received the Health Services Journal ‘Rising Star’ award and is a judge for their healthcare awards.

Na’eem co-founded investor backed healthcare startup ‘ImproveWell’ which focuses on quality improvement and staff engagement which has been deployed in healthcare organisations in UK, US, and New Zealand. He has previously worked as a clinical advisor to SMEs at the Health Innovation Network.

Na’eem served as Clinical Fellow to the National Medical Director at NHS England, Professor Sir Bruce Keogh. He was selected onto the National Advisory Board of the Mortality Outlier Review (Keogh Review) commissioned by the Prime Minister. His portfolio of work also included the national review of patient safety (Berwick Review) and a member of the NHS delegation to Washington D.C. Na’eem was seconded to lead a review of the Department for International Development’s (DFID) youth engagement strategy by previous Secretary of State of International Development Rt Hon Justine Greening MP and co-authored a national review of clinical leadership within the NHS for the think tank REFORM. Na’eem has served on the Mayor of London Boris Johnson’s Team London and as a Trustee at one of UK’s largest charities, Macmillan Cancer Support. Na’eem founded Selfless, a global health NGO providing healthcare for underserved populations.
