Dr Zafar qualified from St Marys Hospital Medical School University of London. He originally trained as a General Practitioner and has worked as a Director of Public Health and a Medical Director in the West Midlands. His interests are the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, primary care and public health, health service resource utilisation, prioritisation of health service and health service planning. He has been appointed by an NHS Provider Trust to establish a Public Health function. Dr Zafar has spoken at many national events on topics such as primary careand public health, obesity, lifestyle services and National Health Service Health.
